Afro Diaspora week ( November 9th –November 15th 2015)
Afro Diaspora week is a whole week dedicated to learning more about the African diaspora through discussions, panels, workshops, etc. Afro diaspora week aims to unites students, faculty, and those in the neighboring communities of Red Hook and Tivoli in discussion in order to inspire them rethink their prejudices about African countries and their people.
Our Planned Events are:
(AAYE WA)-our space : An exhibition of African story throughout the Campus Center during the entire week.
Panel Discussion: The Stigmatization of Foreign Immigrants in the U.S.
11/09/15 from 6-8pm in the Multi Purpose Room (Campus Center)
Language Workshop 11/10/15 (Red Room 5-7 PM)
Party 11/13/15 (Multi Purpose Room 10-1 AM)
African Dance Workshop 11/14/15 (Multi Purpose Room 11-1PM)
Documentary Screening 11/14/15 (Preston Hall 6-9PM)
Akwaaba Jumbo Diner! 11/15/15 (MPR 5PM-7PM)
